LEAD

It’s the Lead Guitar Section for soloing. In this part of the website you’ll find backing tracks to play along with. There is a chord chart for each track which you should analyse to determine the right scales and arpeggios to improvise with. As usual the section is organized in 5 different levels.

After the free sign-up you can get instant access to the lessons marked with star FREE. If you are interested in knowing how to get a full access click here and fill the form with your request.

Information & advice

In this section you will be shown a chord progression where you should improvise using appropriate scales. Below a guide to determine the right scale:

  • Find the key of the chord progression.
  • Verify that all the chords are in the same key.
  • Choose the right scale to improvise with. If one or more chords does not fit the scale-harmony formula then you have a non-diatonic chords or a key change: you should be able to determine which scale or arpeggio to use over them.

Remember that the purpose of the scale is to set the notes that will be used in a key. Your improvisation should sounds inventive and imaginative rather than sounding scale-like. Also you should be able to demonstrate skills in the use of techniques like string bendig, vibrato, slurs (hammer-ons, pull-offs, trills), double stops and pick control.
